Basic Steps on Applying for Wal Mart Student Scholarship Application


Applying for scholarship programs nowadays may seem difficult. We all know that there are thousands of students across the country who wants to avail a scholarship program in order to continue their studies. Various organizations like Wal Mart, are giving scholarship benefits to those students that can pass their qualifications. The benefit you can get from Wall Mart scholarship will range an amount of $ 3,000 worth of scholarship program. You can use the money for your tuition fees, books, dormitories and exams. With the use of Wall Mart scholarship, selected students are able to free themselves from the hassles of school bills.

In order to apply and gain a Wal-Mart scholarship program, you need to submit some documents that testify your need for financial support. The student must also be a permanent or legal resident of the United States. However, if the student or their parents are employees of Wal-Mart, they are not eligible to gain this program. Moreover, the student needs to have an excellent academic performance. They need to attain a 2.5 general point average (GPA) and must have taken ACT or SAT. Moreover, they need to be a high school senior between August and July of the following year. Stating correct and true information on your application is important. For this reason, it is imperative that you follow the guidelines in order to have a smooth application.

The evaluation process of each applicant is made by International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. or ISTS, the independent selection committee of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Wal-Mart Foundation. The selection of students is based on their financial need, academic record, ACT/SAT scores and their community leadership activity. They are able to notify the non-winners via email before May of the corresponding year and USPS for those students who do not have email. Students qualified for the scholarship are required to enroll in the fall of the following year. Selected students are also required to submit their scholarship checks to the proper office of their school institution for notification purposes. Moreover, they also need to notify ISTS if they were unable to receive the check within 30 days.
