Pursue your Career with the Help of the Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution or NSDAR is one of the numerous organizations that provide scholarship programs to students displaying exemplary dedication to pursue their chosen careers. Most of the students that are benefited by this special type of scholarship program are those that pursue a degree in law, nursing, history or education. Students who are granted with the scholarship awards from the NSDAR can get financial assistance to support their college education from the organization.

The Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship committee considers a wide variety of applicants for the scholarship grants. The scholarship program accepts students regardless of their affiliation, race, sex, religion or origin. However, the scholarship committee requires the student to attend an accredited university or college in order for them to retain their scholarship for their whole stay in the institution. Students availing continuous multi-year scholarship grants should attend the said school for consecutive years for them to comply with the requirements of the NSDAR scholarship program.

There are several requirements for a student to be accepted to the scholarship program. First, the applicants should submit a letter of sponsorship as recommended by a local NSDAR chapter. The chairperson of the state scholarship board can provide you with the necessary information on which DAR chapter is nearest to your location. You need to compose a letter addressed to the Committee Services Office in order for you to determine the address of the state scholarship chairperson that will handle your scholarship grant.

Make sure that your application is neatly prepared since the NSDAR uses strict policies in accepting applications. With the large number of application requests, you should expect the results to be release in a relatively long period. Therefore, it is just necessary to process your application, month prior to your college application.

For scholarships scheduled for consecutive-year renewals, the student should include the official transcript of records along with the application letter on or before July 1. If you already have the American Indian Scholarship, do not bother to get an NSDAR scholarship. Moreover, the NSDAR only allows one active scholarship per student.
